WE'VE GOT DIFFERENCES
WE'VE GOT DIFFERENCES
People are different, so they think and act differently. You need to understand that the fact that you judge something to be right and someone else judges it wrong doesn't necessarily make that thing right or wrong.
Most times, our judgment of things depends on our perspective, our vantage point and the school of thought we subscribe to. With a different perspective and from a different vantage point, you will see things much different.
So not only are we different as humans, we see things differently depending on our vantage point. This means what you might judge right today, might look entirely wrong from a different vantage point.
What does this mean? It's simple: the fact that someone disagrees with you about something you think is valuable or important doesn't make them foolish. It also doesn't make you wise. True wisdom means you are willing to subject your ideas to scrutiny but still willing to hold on to them if you still find strong reason in them.
So instead of feeling wise because your values are at opposite spectrums with another's, learn to step a level above and see things from a higher ground. Why does the other person see things differently from you? What's the rationale behind their belief system? Learn to gain perspective before you judge someone.
With this in mind, we will relate better as humans. Embrace diversity and break away from the mold of stereotypical thinking and new worlds will open up to you. You know, people are more willing to open up and even make adjustments for people they feel understand their perspective and is not willing to judge them.
What happens in the case of those that are plain wrong and not willing to make changes? Well, time will tell. I love time, you know why? It's reveals a lot and in the end we get to know who was right and who was wrong. Don't fight it. Time will tell.
Your neighbours are not mad, your friends aren't crazy and your colleagues aren't foolish they just don't think like you. Learn to embrace diversity by accommodating people with differing views.
